Lottery officials said one ticket sold in the state matched all six figures to win the third grand prize in the history of the American lottery.
“Because of strong ticket sales, the Grand Prix rose to an estimated $768.4 million at the time of the draw with a cash option of $477 million,” the multi-state lottery association said in a statement. “The bearer (lucky ticket holders) will have a choice between the $768.4 million premium paid in 30 graduated installments over 29 years or a lump sum of $477 million for Powerball Winner.

The Grand Prix ranked third in the lottery history in the United States, behind the world record of $1.586 billion in the Powerball Grand Prix, in which winners in California, Florida and Tennessee took part in January 2016 and won the grand prize of $1.537 billion South Carolina last October.
No one received the award over the weekend, but people in Wisconsin and Florida won a $2 million prize after having matched the five white balls plus Power Play. Winners earned $1 million in Florida, North Carolina, Illinois, North Dakota, New Hampshire, New York and South Carolina.
