Hoda Muthana Joined ISIS and Trump Decision

Hoda Muthana

Donald Trump decision not to allow Hoda Muthana to return to the United States after she went to Syria to join the Islamic state is shortsighted. It is an annulment of US leadership and discourages other countries from taking the difficult steps necessary to deal with the threat posed by thousands of returning Islamic state fighters.

Hoda Muthana, apparently left Alabama in 2014 to join the Islamic state at the height of the caliphate. She reportedly served as a recruiter and urged attacks on the West.

Hoda Muthana was 20 when she told her family that she was on her way to Turkey to attend a university event. Then she made her way to Syria and joined Daash. She became emotionally involved with a number of Daash fighters. She had a child with one of them and claimed to have spent several years urging attacks on America.

Now Hoda Muthana wants to go home. This 24-year-old girl regrets the existence of a terrorist group that has brainwashed the Internet.

“Mrs. Hoda Muthana is not a US citizen and will not be accepted in the United States,” Pompeo said. “It has no legal basis, no valid US passport, no passport, no visa to travel to the US We continue to strongly advise all US citizens not to travel to Syria.”
