A fire broke out on the second floor of a commercial complex in Sarthana Ben Surat. There was a continuous party and about 20 young men were trapped as Surat Fire.
A huge fire broke out in the shopping complex in Surat forced people to jump from the balcony of the building to save themselves.
Horrific images of the incident emerged where people could be seen jumping from the second floor and the terrace to save their lives.
At least 17 students died in a massive fire in a commercial building. The students were attending their classes when the area was invaded by fire, presumably because of an electric palace.
About ten students were trapped on the third and fourth floors of the windows to save themselves from fire and smoke. Many were rescued and sent to hospital. “The operation to extinguish the fire,” said an official in the fire control room.
Gujarat Prime Minister Vijay Roubani says about 16 children are undergoing treatment at Surat Hospital. At the same time, BJP Chairman Amit Shah also expressed condolences over the tragedy of the fire. “I am deeply concerned about the loss of life caused by a tragic fire in Surat, Gujarat, I offer my deepest condolences to bereaved families, I call for the speedy recovery of the injured and urge the BJP Surat to help those in need,” Shah said in a statement.
Congress leader Ahmed Patel appeals to local authorities to provide best possible medical relief to the injured and adequate compensation to families of the deceased.
